Sandstone in a small group

Do the sandstone towers tempt you? We will get you up them! We will teach you about the climbing techniques specific to sandstone, about placing protection, and even a bit about the history of climbing. At your own pace and in the friendly atmosphere that belongs to sandstone climbing, you can discover what makes it special. This is the course for you, and we would love to see you on it.
What to expect
Summiting sandstone towers — the main goal of the course
An introduction to sandstone tradition and history
Routes chosen to match ability — we split you by level
Technical basics: protecting with knotted slings, an introduction to cracks, chimneys and slab climbing
Room for questions and for understanding why we climb on this sandstone at all
Prerequisites
Experience climbing outdoors (you can tie in, belay and abseil)
A willingness to try new things and spend the day outdoors
Equipment
Climbing gear: Climbing gear (available to borrow apart from climbing shoes): harness, helmet, climbing shoes, HMS carabiners (3×), belay device, prusik cord, personal anchor sling.
Clothing and personal kit: Sportswear (long sleeves and trousers recommended for chimneys), sturdy shoes, a small rucksack, food and drink (at least 2 l), sunscreen, insurance card.
We run our courses with respect for the rock and for the rules of each climbing area. If a course cannot go ahead because of the weather, we will arrange an alternative date.
